Terms of Use
Last updated: 8 November 2026
Please read these Terms carefully. They include important information about your rights, limits on our liability, and how disputes are resolved.
1. About these terms
These Terms of Use ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and Niluna ("Niluna", "we", "us" or "our"), operated from Indore, Madhya Pradesh, India. They apply to the website at niluna.in, the Niluna app, Lumi, and every feature, page, message and service we offer (together, the "Service").
By creating an account, ticking the box to agree, or using the Service in any way, you confirm that you have read, understood and accepted these Terms and our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
These Terms are published in accordance with the Information Technology Act, 2000 of India and the rules made under it, including the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021, the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 and the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020, and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. Where you live in another country, the mandatory laws of that country that protect consumers continue to apply to you, and nothing in these Terms takes those rights away.
2. Who can use Niluna
You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of legal majority where you live if that is higher, to create an account or buy anything on Niluna. By using the Service you confirm that you meet this requirement and that you are legally able to enter into this agreement.
You may enter birth details of other people (for example family members or a partner for kundli matching) only if you have their permission, or are legally entitled to do so, and you take responsibility for doing so lawfully.
You may not use the Service if you are barred from doing so under the laws of India or of the country where you live, or if you are located in, or ordinarily resident in, a country or region subject to comprehensive sanctions, or are named on any government restricted-party list.
3. Your account
You need an email address and a password to use most features. You agree to give accurate information, to keep your password private, and to tell us straight away at the email below if you think someone else has used your account. You are responsible for everything that happens under your account, unless it happened because of our failure.
One account is for one person. You may not sell, transfer or share your account, or create accounts by automated means or under false identities.
You can close your account at any time from Me > Delete my account. This permanently deletes your account and the personal data linked to it, except records we must keep by law (for example payment and tax records).
4. What Niluna is, and what it is not
Niluna provides Vedic astrology (Jyotish) for reflection, self-understanding, cultural and spiritual interest, and entertainment. Astrology is a traditional system of interpretation. It is not a science, and no reading, prediction, match score, remedy or timing can be guaranteed.
Your chart is calculated from the birth details you enter. If those details are wrong or incomplete, the chart and everything based on it may be wrong.
Readings, answers, letters and messages in Niluna are created automatically by Lumi, Niluna's digital guide, following Niluna's own reading method. They are not written or reviewed by a human astrologer before you see them, and they can contain mistakes. Please use your own judgement.
Niluna is not, and does not replace, medical, psychological, psychiatric, legal, financial, tax, investment, matrimonial or any other professional advice. Never delay or stop medical or mental-health treatment, take a medicine, make an investment, sign a contract, or decide on a marriage, separation or divorce because of something Niluna says. Speak to a qualified professional.
Niluna cannot respond to emergencies. If you or someone else is in danger, call your local emergency number straight away. In India call 112, or Tele-MANAS on 14416 (free, 24x7). In the United States call or text 988, or call 911. In the United Kingdom call 999 or Samaritans on 116 123. Elsewhere, contact your local emergency or crisis service.
5. Remedies, festivals and spiritual practices
Remedies suggested in Niluna are simple traditional practices such as mantras, prayer, charity (daan), fasting, routine and temple visits. Follow them only if they are safe and suitable for you. Do not fast, change your diet, or travel to a pilgrimage if it could harm your health, and consult a doctor if you are pregnant, elderly, unwell or taking medication.
Niluna does not sell gemstones, pujas, yantras or similar products, and we do not earn commission on them. Any purchase you make from a third party is entirely between you and that party.
Festival, vrat and panchang dates are calculated for your location and follow common traditions. Local customs and temple calendars may differ, so please check with your family priest or temple for important ceremonies.
6. Plans, prices and payments
Your birth chart, a daily reading and a set number of free questions are free. We may also offer paid plans such as Niluna Plus or packs of questions. The features, price and length of each plan are shown on the Plans screen before you pay.
Prices are shown in Indian Rupees (INR) for people in India and in US Dollars (USD) elsewhere, based on your location, and include applicable taxes such as GST unless stated otherwise. Your bank or card issuer may charge its own fees or currency conversion charges.
Payments are processed by Razorpay and its banking partners. We never see or store your full card or bank details. By paying you also agree to the payment provider's terms.
Paid plans are one-time purchases for a fixed period. They do not renew automatically and we will never charge you again without your action.
During early access or a free trial, we may give some or all paid features free of charge for a limited time. We may end early access or a trial, or change what is included, at any time. We will show you clearly when a trial ends.
We may change prices for future purchases. A change never affects a plan you have already paid for.
7. Cancellations and refunds
If a payment fails but money is taken from your account, or you are charged twice for the same purchase, we refund the full amount to your original payment method, usually within 5 to 7 working days of confirming it.
Because readings and features are delivered instantly once a plan starts, payments are otherwise not refundable once the plan has been used, except where the law of your country gives you a right to a refund. If you are a consumer in the European Union, the United Kingdom or a similar jurisdiction, you agree that the service begins immediately after purchase and you acknowledge that you lose your right to cancel once it has begun, to the extent the law allows.
If something is wrong with a purchase, write to us at the email below within 30 days. We read every message and will always try to help fairly.
8. Your content
You may write questions, diary entries, letters, notes, reviews and other content in Niluna ("Your Content"). You keep all rights in Your Content.
You give Niluna a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, process and display Your Content only as needed to provide and improve the Service for you, and as described in our Privacy Policy. If you post a public review, you allow us to show it on Niluna with your first name or initials. You can ask us to remove it at any time.
Private chats, diary entries and letters are private to you. The unsent letter in the Healing space is never saved.
You are responsible for Your Content. It must not be unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, obscene, hateful, invasive of anyone's privacy, or infringing of anyone's rights.
9. Acceptable use
When using Niluna you agree not to:
- break any law, or help anyone else to do so;
- copy, scrape, crawl, harvest, frame, mirror, resell, rent or commercially exploit any part of the Service, its content or its readings, or use them to build a competing product, dataset or model;
- reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, probe or try to extract the source code, methods, instructions, prompts or underlying systems of the Service, or try to make Lumi reveal how it works;
- use bots, scripts or automated means to access the Service, or create accounts in bulk;
- try to get around question limits, trials, prices, payments, rate limits or security measures, or test the Service for vulnerabilities without our written permission;
- upload viruses or harmful code, or interfere with the Service, its servers or networks;
- impersonate any person, misrepresent your identity, or use someone else's account;
- enter another person's personal details without their permission, or use the Service to stalk, harass, threaten, discriminate against or harm anyone;
- use the Service for fortune-telling for money, or present Niluna's readings as your own professional work;
- post content that is unlawful, obscene, defamatory, hateful, or that threatens the unity, integrity, security or sovereignty of India or public order.
If you break these rules we may limit, suspend or close your account, remove content, and report unlawful activity to the authorities where required.
10. Our intellectual property
Niluna, Lumi, the Niluna and Lumi names, logos, characters, illustrations, design, text, readings, reading method, software and all other content of the Service belong to Niluna or its licensors and are protected by copyright, trade mark and other laws of India and other countries. All rights not expressly granted to you are reserved.
We give you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Service for your own private, non-commercial purposes in line with these Terms. You may save and share your own readings and kundli PDF with family and friends for personal use.
If you send us ideas or feedback, we may use them freely without any obligation to you.
11. Privacy and your data
How we collect, use, store and protect your personal data is explained in our Privacy Policy. In short: we collect your email, the birth details you enter, your questions and answers, ratings and simple usage information such as pages visited and time spent; we use them only to provide and improve the Service; we never sell your data or use it for advertising.
We comply with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. Where they apply to you, we also respect the rights given by the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation, the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended, and similar laws, including your rights to access, correct, download and delete your data and to withdraw consent. You can download your data from Me > Download my data and delete it from Me > Delete my account.
Some of our trusted service providers (for hosting, database, generating readings, email and payments) may process data outside your country. Where they do, we require appropriate safeguards.
12. Notifications and emails
We send emails needed to run your account, such as sign-in, confirmation, password reset and payment receipts. If you turn them on, we may also send app notifications such as your morning reading, remedy reminders and festival reminders. You can turn notifications off at any time in Me. We do not send marketing messages without your consent.
13. Availability and changes to the Service
We work hard to keep Niluna running, but the Service is provided over the internet and may sometimes be slow, unavailable or interrupted, for example during maintenance or because of events outside our control. We do not promise that it will always be available or free of errors.
We may add, change, limit or remove features at any time. If we stop offering a paid feature you have already paid for, we will give you a fair, pro-rated refund.
14. Third-party services and links
The Service relies on, and may link to, services run by others (for example payment, email, maps, app stores and websites). We are not responsible for their content, policies or actions, and your use of them is governed by their own terms.
15. Disclaimers
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available". We make no promise or warranty, express or implied, that any reading, prediction, match, remedy, timing or other content is accurate, complete, reliable or suitable for any purpose, or that using the Service will lead to any particular outcome, including in health, relationships, marriage, career, money or legal matters. You use the Service and act on it at your own discretion and risk.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any warranty or right that cannot be excluded or limited under the law that applies to you.
16. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Niluna and its founder, team, partners and service providers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive loss or damage, or for any loss of profit, income, business, opportunity, data, goodwill or reputation, or for any decision you make or action you take based on the Service.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for all claims arising out of or relating to the Service or these Terms is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose, or (b) one thousand Indian Rupees (INR 1,000).
These limits do not apply to liability that cannot be limited by law, such as liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for gross negligence or wilful misconduct.
17. Indemnity
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to compensate Niluna for any claims, losses, liabilities, damages and reasonable costs (including legal fees) that arise from your breach of these Terms, your misuse of the Service, Your Content, or your violation of any law or of anyone else's rights.
18. Suspension and termination
You may stop using Niluna and delete your account at any time.
We may suspend or close your account, with notice where reasonable, if you break these Terms, if we are required to by law, or to protect Niluna, other users or the public. If we close your account without a good reason related to your conduct, we will refund any unused part of a paid plan.
Sections that by their nature should continue after your account ends (including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnity and governing law) will continue to apply.
19. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Subject to the paragraphs below, the courts at Indore, Madhya Pradesh, India have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service.
Before starting any formal claim, please write to us at the email below so we can try to resolve it informally. Most concerns are solved this way within 30 days.
If you are a consumer, nothing in these Terms takes away your right to approach a consumer forum or commission under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 in India, or to bring a claim in the courts of the country where you live where its mandatory laws give you that right. If you live in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you may also use the alternative dispute resolution bodies available in your country.
20. Grievance officer and contact
In accordance with the Information Technology Act, 2000, the rules made under it, and the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020, the grievance officer for Niluna is:
- Nidhi Goel, Founder, Niluna, Indore, Madhya Pradesh, India
- Email: inidhig26@gmail.com
We acknowledge every complaint within 48 hours and aim to resolve it within 15 days of receiving it, and within any shorter time required by law. For questions about your personal data you can also write to the same email.
21. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time, for example when we add features or when the law changes. We will show the date of the latest version at the top of this page, and for important changes we will tell you in the app or by email before they take effect. If you keep using Niluna after the changes take effect, you accept the updated Terms. If you do not agree, please stop using the Service and delete your account.
22. General
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any terms shown when you buy a plan, are the whole agreement between you and Niluna about the Service.
If any part of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the rest stays in full effect. If we do not enforce a right straight away, we have not given it up.
You may not transfer your rights under these Terms without our written consent. We may transfer ours, for example if Niluna is reorganised or sold, as long as your rights are not reduced.
We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control, such as natural disasters, epidemics, war, government action, power or internet failures, or failures of our service providers.
These Terms are written in English. If they are translated, the English version prevails to the extent permitted by law.
Read our Privacy Policy.
