Privacy policy

Niluna is built for people who sometimes come to it in difficult moments. We treat your data with that in mind. This policy explains, in plain words, what we collect, why, and the choices you have. It is written to meet India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, and common international standards.
What we collect
- Account: your email address, used to sign you in.
- Birth details: name, date, time and place of birth, and where your birth time came from. These are needed to calculate your chart.
- Your conversations: questions you ask Lumi and the answers, plus any ratings you give.
- Partner details for matching: only what you enter. Please enter someone else's details only if they are happy for you to do so.
- Usage: pages visited and time spent, so we can improve Niluna. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
- Payments: the plan you bought and its status. Card and UPI details are handled by our payment partner, Razorpay, and never reach us.
- Notifications: if you turn them on, a technical address your browser gives us to deliver them.
Why we use it
Only to provide Niluna: to calculate your chart, write your readings and answers, run your daily glow, process payments, send the notifications you asked for, keep the service secure, and understand how to make it better. We never sell your data, never use it for advertising, and never share it with anyone for their own marketing.
Who helps us
A small number of trusted service providers process data for us under confidentiality and data protection terms: our hosting provider, our database provider (data stored in India, Mumbai region), a technology provider that helps generate readings from your chart, our email provider for sign-in emails, and Razorpay for payments. Some of these providers may process data outside India. They may use it only to provide their service to us.
How long we keep it
- Your account, chart, readings and conversations: while your account is open.
- Usage records: 12 months, then deleted automatically.
- Payment records: as long as Indian tax law requires.
- When you delete your account, everything else is deleted straight away.
Your rights
- See your data: Me > Download my data gives you a full copy.
- Correct it: Me > Edit my birth details.
- Delete it: Me > Delete my account and data. This is permanent.
- Withdraw consent: you can stop using Niluna and delete your account at any time.
- Complain: write to us first. If you are not satisfied, you can approach the Data Protection Board of India or your local authority.
Security
Data travels encrypted, is stored encrypted, and each person can only ever read their own records. Access to the owner dashboard is limited to Niluna's founder, and it shows counts and ratings only, never your private conversations.
Age
Niluna is for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
